Who Am I?
I have been a member of The Haven Net for several years, first being introduced to the community back in 2004 by my good friend KillCrazy when the Half-Life modification 'Natural Selection' was in vogue. It was at this point Tetsuo_Shima was born, and I have followed The Haven Net ever since through its various changes in style, population and interests.
However, for me, life didn't start at Tetsuo_Shima, and I have a long and illustrious (or so I like to think!) gaming heritage that far preceded my time in The Haven Net. At the base of things, I'm a console man through and through. Whilst some, probably most, THN members had their first gaming experiences on old Basic and Apple computer sytems, my first taste of gamingdom was on the venerable old Atari console back in the '80s. The simple charms of Pac-Man and Pole Position immediately hooked me into a pastime which was still in the very early stages of its life, with home video-gaming only just starting to creep onto the scene. Whilst the Atari was interesting, Nintendo was the true driving force behind my passion for videogames. After being given my very own Nintendo GameBoy (yep, the original, old grey 4xAA brick) for my 4th (or was it 3rd?) Christmas, and a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) for the next, I found the platforming charms of the Super Mario Bros. and Mega Man games irresistable - bright, colourful worlds with fantastically realised characters where i could lose myself for hours on end.
To be continued ...
